With over two decades dedicated to the maritime and port sectors, I have built a career underpinned by the fusion of hands-on operational experience and technical-legal rigor. I began on the front line of port activity — ship agency, schedule oversight, and executive operations management — which gave me a systemic view of foreign trade. That experience remains the backbone of my current practice as a lawyer and consultant in Maritime, Port, and Labor Law.

As local correspondent for International Group P&I Clubs, I addressed a wide range of claims, including cargo damage and shortage, crew claims, stowaways, salvage, collisions, allision, and oil pollution. I negotiated Letters of Undertaking to prevent vessel arrest and coordinated technical surveys in high-pressure scenarios, consistently delivering swift, technically sound responses clients could rely on with confidence.

I also worked on operational risk prevention and supported trading companies in import and export operations — from moisture certification of bulk cargo to laytime control and demurrage mitigation, enhancing efficiency across the supply chain. This was a crucial front, requiring close, ongoing engagement with port and regulatory authorities, including the Brazilian Navy, Federal Revenue, ANVISA, and IBAMA.

In contentious matters, I represented shipowners, masters, and crew members in Administrative Inquiries (IAFN) before the Port Captaincy and in proceedings before the Brazilian Maritime Court, in addition to handling complex civil and criminal litigation across state and federal jurisdictions in Brazil. This wide-ranging experience underpins my practice: sound decisions at sea and in port take shape where genuine technical knowledge meets legal rigor.
